Your link
Click it once to test — it opens WhatsApp with the message below.
One link, everywhere customers already are
The classic "DM us on WhatsApp" — one tap straight into a chat, no link-in-bio detour.
A support or sales line your customers can actually reply to, next to every email you send.
Add it as a profile button or in posts — "Chat with us" instead of just a call button.
Short, typed by hand if needed, and it works in print. Pair it with a QR code for scannable surfaces.

Every tap on your link can land in one shared team inbox with AI replies, canned messages, campaigns and delivery tracking — on your own WhatsApp number through Meta's official API. The website chat widget is free forever.

WhatsApp link generator questions
Do I need WhatsApp Business, the Business API or an account to use a wa.me link?
No. A wa.me link opens a normal WhatsApp chat with the number you entered — the person on the other end just needs WhatsApp installed. It works the same for personal numbers, WhatsApp Business and numbers connected to the Business API.
Will the link work on WhatsApp Web and desktop?
Yes. When someone clicks a wa.me link on a computer, WhatsApp opens the chat in WhatsApp Web or the WhatsApp desktop app automatically. On a phone it opens the WhatsApp app. The link works everywhere WhatsApp works.
What is the difference between wa.me and api.whatsapp.com/send?
They do the same job — both open a chat with the number and an optional pre-filled message. wa.me is WhatsApp's short official link format, which is why it is used in bios, emails and print. Use the "Prefer WhatsApp Web" toggle in this tool if you specifically want the api.whatsapp.com/send format.
Can I add line breaks or variables to the pre-filled message?
Yes. Press Enter in the message box to add a line break — it is encoded automatically and WhatsApp shows it as a new line. For dynamic text like a customer's name, most chat platforms insert the value before sending; a plain wa.me link always opens with the exact message you wrote.
Can I see how many people clicked my WhatsApp link?
A plain wa.me link has no built-in click stats. For measurement you can wrap it in a link shortener that counts clicks, or connect the number to a business messaging platform — The Tech Pad's campaign analytics track delivered and read messages once you send through the WhatsApp Business API.
